Course Description:
This 4-day course is designed for the Training Officer, or their designee. Students gain the instructional skills and training techniques for them to deliver the Statewide Rapid Intervention Initiative to their own department. The course is designed to instruct all aspects of RIT in a modular format so that the Training Officer will be able to deliver the teachings in modules as time allows. Each participant will be required to demonstrate each skill and their understanding of each skill and is physically demanding. After successful completion of this physically demanding training, students will be able to offer the training to their department. Upon proof of such training, and in conjunction with the MFA, each student will be issued a joint certificate in Rapid Intervention Training. Full PPE is required and a complete SCBA with two bottles. Applications must be received one month prior to start date of class for admission consideration.
