FIRE OFFICER 1 - BLENDED E-LEARNING

This is a 'Priority Selection' course which is NOT first come first serve. The coordinator will make a selection and a letter will be sent to you stating whether or not you have been accepted.

Course Description:
Fire Officer I training is a important stepping stone to your future as a Fire Officer in our state. This program is equivalent to the traditional class room program with 50% less time and travel investment. We believe that this new initiative will suit the needs of many new fire officers in the state. The class will be given the same credit as the traditional one but will involve less time away from work and home. There are no pre-requisites to take the classroom portion of Fire Officer I. To take the certification exam for Fire Officer I, the candidate shall meet the requirements set forth by NFPA 1021 Standard, which states: For qualification at Fire Officer I, the candidate shall meet the requirements of Firefighter II as defined in NFPA 1001, Fire Instructor I as defined in NFPA 1041, and the job requirements defined in Sections 4.2 through 4.7 of the 1021 standard.
