This course is for all fire service personnel interested in learning how to deliver instructional modules from prepared lesson plans. The topics covered range from the psychology of learning to the correct use of audio/visual instructional aids
This course consists of thirty-five (35) hours of instructor-led classroom training with twenty-five (25) hours of self-guided on-line learning. Individual presentations and written examinations will be graded.
This course meets or exceeds the job performance requirements in the NFPA Standard 1041 Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications for Fire Instructor I. Successful completion of this course satisfies the “practical” requirement for the ProBoard Certification Examination. This course satisfies one of the requirements for becoming a Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Instructor.
Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites to take this course. The priority selection will take place 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
